2020 ENDORSEMENTS

Strong advocate for Bartlesville

I served on the Bartlesville City Council for 10 years and Mayor for 6 years. I know the importance of having quality, honest and diligent people serving on the City Council. Jim Curd exemplifies all of these traits and I support his candidacy for the City Council. Jim is a strong advocate for responsible governance at all levels, economic development, the continued redevelopment of our downtown and a quality parks system.

Jim has done a good job in his current term on the City Council and I support his re-election.

Time for a change!

Jim Curd is a man of integrity and wisdom, and I am so pleased that he is running for our City Council in Ward 3. His opponent, Mr. Gorman, has been in office for 10 years.

No one person is responsible for the city’s financial controls, long term water issues or any other city issue. Instead these issues are addressed by the people who make up our city administration and are overseen by our five-member council.

Jim is a successful businessman (Dink’s Bar-B-Que and Sterlings Grille) and has contributed his wisdom to numerous boards, both nonprofit and governmental, over his many years in Bartlesville.

Please consider voting for Jim Curd on Nov. 8. I believe he will make a very positive contribution to the City Council and our community as a whole.

Good leadership going forward!

I am so pleased that Jim Curd is running for another term on our city council. He has been an excellent council member for the last four

years. We have seen improvements in our sports fields, our parks, and our streets. Our budget is balanced and our rainy day fund has grown. Our water rights have been secured and a multiyear contract has been signed with the police and fire departments. His integrity, energy and business acumen have served us well in the past and will do so as we go forward into the future.

Please place your vote for Jim Curd in the coming election.

Voting for Bartlesville's future

Jim Curd and his family have been great assets to the community since the day they arrived in Bartlesville.  I remember him spending countless hours at the baseball fields when his boys were young trying to improve their playing experience along with many other parents. His longevity in the food industry is a testament to his work ethic, passion, and perseverance.  These same characteristics that make Jim successful in the restaurant business have also made him an impactful city councilman. The city has made great improvements to increase the quality of life for the younger generations including the Tower Center at Unity Square and the recent renovations to the youth baseball fields. Jim has been a mainstay during these years of growth. I support Jim Curd for ward 3 and I will be voting for him on November 3rd to keep improving the future of Bartlesville.

Passionate about Bartlesville!

What a great time to live in Bartlesville, Oklahoma! Our city has so much going for it right now and our City Council and City Administration have been working hard to make good things happen. Ward 3 councilor, Jim Curd, has such a great vision for our community and has worked tirelessly for the past four years to make sure we implement our strategic plan.

With his work as the City Council liaison on the Bartlesville Development Authority, he has helped bring new retail business to town, strengthened local businesses, and created new jobs. The BDA has also provided assistance to many small business owners to help with the impact of COVID.

Jim is passionate about improving the quality of life in Bartlesville. He is constantly working to find ways to make Bartlesville a better place to live and work, which is critical as we try to encourage local employees to live here rather than in communities to the South. He has led the effort to improve our Parks, to maintain and expand Pathfinder, and to improve our facilities for youth sports fields. He was also actively involved with the completion of the new Tower Center.

Jim knows that we must continue to focus and develop downtown. We have come a long way in the past four years but so much more needs to be done. He knows that the infrastructure across the community needs to be continuously upgraded to keep us competitive.

Jim is a local business owner who has raised his family in Bartlesville. It is indeed his home, and he cares a great deal about the future of our community. Not only does he care but he is a person that knows how to make things happen. He has already done a lot of great work with

the City Council, and he needs to be reelected so he can do even more. He has my vote.

Dedicated leadership

I supported Jim Curd 4 years ago in his successful bid to be elected to the Bartlesville City Council. He campaigned then for the City to finally use our strategic plans. These plans would improve the quality of life that our citizens deserved and that would allow us to better compete for new jobs, new companies, and retain and attract new residents. I support him today because he did what he said he would do.

Today after historic community support and a Council working towards the same goal, our previous two bond issues have dedicated more than $14 million dollars towards quality of life amenities. These amenities position our community to compete on a much more level playing field to attract businesses, visitors, and new citizens. Jim is ethical and always listens first. He is honest and speaks directly to the matter always seeking workable solutions. He has dedicated himself to this community on many levels and we need his character and openness to continue to lead in the public arena.

Putting Bartlesville first, stand with me in support of Jim Curd for Ward 3 City Council.

No reservations

Without hesitation or reservations, I am honored to endorse Jim Curd for re-election to the ward 3 City Council position. Jim embodies the maturity, commitment, reasonableness, and compassion that is critical for our City leaders to have. Some of the accomplishments that have been achieved during Jims tenure on the City Council include:

  • Completion of the Tower Center at Unity Square

  • Improvements to our beautiful downtown.

  • Many street and infrastructure improvements across our city

  • Needed additions and enhancements to our parks and sports complexes

  • Strong economic development success

In addition to the above, Jim has been a strong supporter of our policy, fire and emergency management services.

Please join me in supporting Jim Curd for re-election to the ward 3 City Council seat to help assure the continued progress of our City.

A man of his word

Jim Curd is a man of his word. When first elected he had a plan with objectives to improve the City of Bartlesvile. Specifically he was determined to improve the parks, sports facilities, the downtown business disrict and associated services enhancing our quality of life for all citizans. Jim, working with the city council and administration, has been a leader in accomplishing these goals. We are a better City for his efforts.

I will vote for Jim Curd because he now has an expanded strategic plan for the future. He will not rest on his past accomplishments. As a man of his word he will continue to improve our city for the benefit of all.

Roger H. Box, Bartlesville

Delivers on his promises

Debbie and I have been residents of Bartlesville for over 18 years and have chosen to make this our home in retirement. We are optimistic about Bartlesville’s future and passionate about helping us compete for the future. I have worked closely with Jim Curd on several different initiatives and know he will continue to deliver on his promises and bring an open approach to all aspects of City Government.

Jim has helped drive many positive changes for the City the past 4 years – improving our basic infrastructure, securing long-term water rights, investing in our parks and recreation facilities, improving downtown, and successfully implementing the Tower Center at Unity Square.

Jim understands that Bartlesville is competing against other communities for businesses, workers, and residents. He will work daily to help strengthen and grow our local businesses while trying to attract new workers and residents. We are in a much better position now, but still have much work to do. The activities listed above have been done in a fiscally responsible manner, as the City operates with

a balanced budget and has grown the rainy-day fund.

I urge you to vote for Jim Curd for Ward 3 to help make Bartlesville a better place to live now and for future generations!

A proven leader

Jim Curd, the current Ward 3 City Councilman, is seeking re-election.  I am supporting his bid for re-election because he has done an outstanding job carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the job.

As the Ward 3 city council representative, he attends meetings, works with other members to find solutions, casts thoughtful votes, and responds to the needs of his constituents.  He is doing the job.

Jim is invested in Bartlesville.  He raised his family here, is a local  business owner, and is generous in supporting the many causes and events  important to Bartlesville.  He has a strong vision for Bartlesville’s success and the passion and energy to carry out his vision.

I am asking you to join me in supporting Jim’s bid for re-election.  He is a proven leader who wants to build a better Bartlesville.

Vote for Jim Curd, Ward 3 City Councilman, on November 3rd.

Understands Bartlesville's needs

I have known Jim for many years…and what stands out, first and foremost, is his character: he never wavers from kindness, generosity, and his willingness to contribute both time and effort to help make/keep Bartlesville a great place to “work and live life”.

He understands the needs of this community, both from a business and family viewpoint. He means what he says, and Jim is “All About Bartlesville”!
